This may be an obvious statement for some but, believe it or not, it simply isn’t for everyone. In fact, it used to be me. I was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 2014 and, for various reasons, we made the decision for me to become the permanent house watchdog. At first this was extremely difficult for me as I’ve went to work for years as an aircraft mechanic. So, being a stay-at-home dad was definitely a change of pace. Over time, it was welcoming and I realized just how much I missed my kids. All the deployments, all the TDY’s…they take a toll. However, I got into a routine that involved nothing but living in my “grunge” clothes, growing the hair and beard out that I rarely took care of. Because “WHO CARES”, I’m not going anywhere!
Well, eventually your teenagers start yelling at you to shave and, if you have pet birds, they start flying away from the scary cro-magnon man. And, believe it or not, it plays a part in how you FEEL. It used to be part of a routine to get up and get dressed, but nicely, not in ripped t-shirts and jogging pants. Let’s face it, without routines, most of us fall apart. I know I do! Without a to-do list or a sticky note, everything will go undone; it’s as simple as that. So, if you’re like this guy and thought just because you’re a stay-at-home dad (or mom) that looks don’t matter, get up and get dressed! I bet you’ll feel better holding that coffee cup first thing in the morning 🙂
My outfit today 🙂 Super comfy to wear around the house and on the go. What’s your liking?
God Bless
