Home » Talking to God

This is one of those topics that is confusing to many, even christians, as they feel uncomfortable or don’t know where to begin. Let’s see if I can make it a bit more comfortable for you because, after all, this is a mindset and all minds can be changed, however slowly.

“The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth” – Psalm 145:18-19

Many have heard or seen “The Lord’s Prayer” and some even take it literally as a must to be recited daily and that’s just not the case. Jesus wants us to speak to him openly and passionately, just as we would our own close friends and family. This will not always look like someone with hands crossed and bended knee or holding a Bible. It may be in the shower, driving down the road, or even while cooking. This is not a sign that you’re going crazy for speaking to an imaginary friend. This is a sign you are building relationship with our kindest God through prayer by allowing free flowing thought. Let him know your troubles and what you need help with. Put it all on the table. If you feel the need for solitude, create a prayer closet or closed off section that you can do this in peace. But, do this daily! Set an alarm where you will absolutely be there everyday to build this habit and it will bring an inner peace you have never felt.

A good habit to into is to find a daily devotional. Bible reading is also great. If you enjoy listening, Father Mike will read it to you 🙂

This is a personal favorite of mine as it’s a 365 day devotional with scripture for additional reference. https://amzn.to/3OwJkyg
This one by Paul Tripp is excellent as well. https://amzn.to/44fqIsG

“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:5-6

Let me know how you’re doing

God Bless
